Warren Sapp Child Support

Warren Sapp Child Support - NFL legend Warren Sapp has filed documents to try and lower his alimony and child support payments to his ex-wife -- and it's no wonder ... she claims he's fallen behind in his payments to the tune of $728,100!!!

Jamiko claims Warren's missed payments amount to $728,100 and filed a motion asking a judge to enforce their divorce agreement.

In October 2011, Sapp filed documents of his own ... asking a judge to lower his monthly payments.

A judge has yet to rule on either request.

Alberto Contador Tour De France

Alberto Contador Tour De France - Alberto Contador was stripped of his 2010 Tour de France title Monday and banned for two years after sport's highest court found him guilty of doping.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport suspended the three-time Tour champion after rejecting his claim that his positive test for clenbuterol was caused by eating contaminated meat.

The three-man CAS panel upheld appeals by the International Cycling Union and World Anti-Doping Agency, which challenged a Spanish cycling tribunal's decision last year to exonerate Contador.

His ban was backdated and he is eligible to return to competition on Aug. 6.

The decision was announced by CAS in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Contador has continued racing since testing positive on a 2010 Tour rest day.

Contador becomes only the second Tour de France champion to be disqualified and stripped of victory for doping. The first was Floyd Landis, the American who lost his 2006 title after testing positive for testosterone.

Andy Schleck of Luxembourg, who finished second at the 2010 Tour, stands to be elevated to victory.

Contador tested positive on the July 21 rest day. The positive results were not confirmed publicly until September 2010, when the UCI announced it had provisionally suspended him pending an investigation by Spain's cycling body.

Contador blamed steak bought from a Basque producer for his high reading of clenbuterol, which is sometimes used by farmers to fatten up their livestock.

Contador was originally cleared last February by the Spanish cycling federation's tribunal, which rejected a recommendation to impose a one-year ban. Days earlier, then Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero said on Twitter that there was no reason to punish the rider, who is a sports icon in his home country.

After the UCI and WADA appealed the Spanish verdict, a twice-postponed hearing was eventually heard by CAS in November.

The four-day session almost ended in chaos as lawyers for the UCI and WADA considered walking out when the panel chairman, Israeli lawyer Efraim Barak, prevented one of their expert witnesses from being questioned about the science of blood doping and transfusions.

The complex 18-month legal case has also raised questions about the status of clenbuterol in anti-doping rules and the honesty of Spanish farmers. The drug is banned in Europe.

Contador is one of only five cyclists to win the three Grand Tours -- the Tour de France, the Giro and the Spanish Vuelta. He also won the Tour de France in 2007 and 2009.

Super Bowl 2012: 10 Players to Watch on Sunday

Super Bowl 2012: 10 Players To Watch On Sunday - Think about it for a moment: Are the 7-7 Giants in the Super Bowl if Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie limits Victor Cruz to a first down, rather than letting him run for a 99-yard touchdown on Christmas Eve?

1. Tom Brady, quarterback, Patriots Brady looked shaky in the AFC Championship, but his poise bubbled in the fourth quarter, like it always does, and he dove over the Ravens’ goal line for the winning score. No other quarterback is loved and hated for the same reason: When it counts, Brady is damn good.

2. Dan Connolly, centre, Patriots The reason Brady can be Brady is because his offensive line, anchored by Connolly, stretches time for him. While the Patriots allowed 32 sacks in the regular season, 15th in the league, Brady was yanked down just once in January.

3. Jason Pierre-Paul, defensive end, Giants Pierre-Paul is a 6-foot-5, 278-pound grenade with biceps. He is strong enough to fold and nimble enough to squeeze through the thickest line. And with New England eyes and hands anxiously following 23-year-old Jason Tuck, Osi Umenyiora and Mathias Kiwanuka could each get a shot on Brady.

4. Antrel Rolle, free safety, Giants Brady will complete passes, the key is limiting yards after the catch, and that job belongs to Antrel Rolle. The playoff leader in tackles (18), he will need to constantly communicate with his secondary and his linebackers to make sure New England’s offence only goes so far.

5. Eli Manning, quarterback, Giants Eli’s body of work will never match Peyton, but no one doubts the younger Manning’s big-game stature anymore. With the pocket collapsing and all his receivers covered, Eli can wiggle away and zip the ball where it needs to be, all the while looking like a spooked teenager.

6. Victor Cruz, wide receiver, Giants Think about it for a moment: Are the 7-7 Giants in the Super Bowl if Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie limits Cruz to a first down, rather than letting him run for a 99-yard touchdown on Christmas Eve? Maybe. Probably. Cruz’s speed turns quick receptions into amazing gains.

7. Aaron Hernandez, tight end, Patriots If Rob Gronkowski’s hurt left ankle makes him a spectator, New England offensive co-ordinator Bill O’Brien will trust Hernandez. The 22-year-old, like Gronkowksi, is strong and fast. But this post-season, Hernandez has proven himself to be a devastating rusher too, with five carries for 61 yards in the wild-card round.

8. Julian Edelman, receiver/safety, Patriots How Bill Belichick will use Edelman? The 25-year-old could be anywhere: lining up out wide as a receiver or in the secondary as a safety or defensive back. His numbers are not spectacular (four catches for 34 yards, and 13 tackles on defence), but the coach trusts him to make a big play.

9. Ahmad Bradshaw, running back, Giants Against linebackers Rob Ninkovich and Brandon Spikes and defensive tackle Vince Wilfork’s belly, Bradshaw will probably not rush for 100 yards. But his angry strength will be vital in short-yardage situations, and each time Manning needs to dump the ball short for quick gains.

10. Jerod Mayo, linebacker, New England Patriots Like Rolle, Jerod Mayo will need to be the defensive example. The linebacker leads New England with 17 combined tackles in the playoffs and will be important to keeping yards by Bradshaw, Cruz and Hakeem Nicks short.

Franco Harris Founder of Super Bakery

Franco Harris + Founder Of Super Bakery - Ex-Steelers star Harris takes enriched pastries to the supermarket. Hoping for a sweet reception. Franco Harris peers into the freezer case at the Giant Eagle grocery near his McCandless office. Behind the chilled glass, there on the top shelves are stacks of red boxes containing sweet, sticky pastries called Super Donuts and Super Buns, $2.99 per box of six.

Those are his products. Somehow, it seems like he's hitting the big time.

"It feels good to see it in there," said the former Steeler who is enough of a big deal in this town that his image is enshrined in a statue at Pittsburgh International Airport.

But his 16-year-old business, Super Bakery Inc., has been generally behind the scenes, selling nutritionally enriched bakery goods to schools, hospitals and other food-service customers. The average consumer has not been able to buy them -- until now.

Mr. Harris officially launched a new retail operation, RSuper Foods, earlier this year and in March, the first two lines arrived in all of O'Hara-based Giant Eagle's 200-plus stores. Eventually, he'd like to see products available in retail stores across the country.

The timing seems tricky. After all, these are doughnuts and cinnamon buns coming at a time when obesity is on the unofficial national list of hot topics and even the average consumer can toss around nutrition terms with ease. Congress is considering overhauling rules on what foods schools can sell.

But Mr. Harris -- more familiarly called "Franco" by almost every shopper he passes in the McIntyre Square grocery -- thinks his products fit effectively into the demand for better, healthier versions of traditional favorite foods.

Super Bakery, and now RSuper Foods, uses a trademarked fortifier called NutriDough with 14 essential minerals, vitamins and protein -- or MVP as the boxes cleverly note. It is still a doughnut -- it has 220 calories, in line with other doughnuts.

Joe Montana NFL Career

+Joe Montana NFL Career - Joseph Clifford "Joe" Montana, Jr. (born June 11, 1956), nicknamed Joe Cool, Golden Joe, The Golden Great and Comeback Joe is a retired professional football player, a hall of fame quarterback with the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs. Montana started his NFL career in 1979 with San Francisco, where he played for the next 14 seasons.

Traded before the 1993 season, he spent his final two years in the league with Kansas City. While a member of the 49ers, Montana started in four Super Bowl games and won all of them. Montana was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000, his first year of eligibility. In 1989, and again in 1990, the Associated Press named Montana the NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP), and Sports Illustrated magazine named Montana the 1990 "Sportsman of the Year".

Four years earlier, in 1986, Montana won the AP NFL Comeback Player of the Year Award. Montana was elected to eight Pro Bowls, as well as being voted 1st team All-Pro by the AP in 1987, 1989, and 1990. Montana had the highest passer rating in the National Football Conference (NFC) five times (1981, 1984, 1985, 1987, and 1989); and, in both 1987 and 1989, Montana had the highest passer rating in the entire NFL. Noted for his ability to remain calm under pressure, Montana helped his teams to 31 fourth quarter come-from-behind wins. In the closing moments of the 1981 NFC Championship Game and Super Bowl XXIII, Montana threw game-winning touchdown passes.

The touchdown at the end of the championship game was so memorable that sports journalists, fans, and many others, refer to the play simply as "The Catch". The touchdown in the closing moments of Super Bowl XXIII came at the end of a 92-yard drive. The 49ers retired the number 16, the jersey number Montana wore while with the team. In 1993, Montana was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs and led the franchise to its first AFC Championship Game in January 1994. In 1994, Montana earned a spot on the NFL 75th Anniversary All-Time Team; he is also a member of the NFL 1980s All-Decade Team. In 1999, editors at The Sporting News ranked Montana third on their list of Football's 100 Greatest Players. Also in 1999, ESPN named Montana the 25th greatest athlete of the 20th century. In 2006, Sports Illustrated rated him the number one clutch quarterback of all-time.

Terrell Davis Coach At Rancho Christian

Terrell Davis Coach At Rancho Christian - Kenric Jameison is the first football coach at Temecula Rancho Christian High which will have an 11-man program in 2011, Jameison said.

Jameison formerly assisted Tommy Leach at Temecula Chaparral.

Former NFL players Terrell Davis and Leonard Russell will be on Jameison's staff, he said. So will former track and field world record holder Tyree Washington.

"I think we'll have a coaching staff to rival anyone in the nation and we're eager and excited to get going," Jameison said. "We want to build a great football program that will be a formidable foe."

Rancho Christian has only 35 students, but Jameison said the school is intent upon increasing enrollment and eventually wants to have 80 players in its football program.

Jameison, also the assistant athletic director (to Kelly Gill), envisions a sports program that also includes volleyball, cross country, boys and girls basketball, baseball and softball, as well as football.

The Eagles will compete as an independent in 2011, Jameison said.

Charles Haley Finalist NFL Hall of Fame

+Charles Haley  + Finalist NFL Hall of Fame, Chris Doleman is not one of the four Pro Football Hall of Fame finalists who won a Super Bowl. He doesn't believe that should affect his chances of being elected to the shrine. Doleman terrorized quarterbacks and running backs as a defensive end for the Vikings, Falcons and 49ers for 15 seasons. He led the NFL in sacks in 1989 with 21 on his way to 150 1/2 sacks, fourth all-time when he retired.Unlike Charles Haley, Bill Parcells, Jerome Bettis and Ed DeBartolo Jr. among the 17 finalists who will learn Saturday if they are voted into the hall, Doleman never got to the NFL's biggest stage. "Yes, it can hurt me and it's unfair, absolutely," Doleman said Friday. "I'd like to think the voters look at this and say, 'Let's take the Super Bowl out of it.' These guys were such great players that if you placed them on that particular team, would it have won the Super Bowl? Can you take a Super Bowl player and put him on a team I played on and is he a difference maker?" As Doleman was reflecting on his career, Aikman walked by. Asked how often Doleman put him on his back, he winced and said, "Too many times. More than I care to remember. He was quite a player."

Doleman is one of four defensive players known for their ability to knock down quarterbacks who made the final list. One of them, Charles Haley is the only player to win five Super Bowls, two with the 49ers and three with Dallas. Cortez Kennedy spent his entire 11-season career with Seattle, while Kevin Greene, one of the original hybrid linebacker-ends, played for four teams in his 15 pro seasons.

"It's a great group," said Doleman, who along with Reggie White and Bruce Smith was considered the class of pass rushers for several seasons. Indeed, Doleman might have been the prototype for the pass-rushing 4-3 end of today's game: powerful but agile, able to rush with speed or overwhelm a blocker with strength. "I would have players and coaches telling me their teams were trying to get people to copy what I was doing," Doleman said.

The other Super Bowl winners are DeBartolo, who owned the 49ers when they won their five titles from 1981-94; Bettis, who concluded his 13 NFL seasons in 2006 by winning the championship with the Steelers; and Bill Parcells, who coached the Giants to their 1987 and 1991 Super Bowl victories. Parcells also took the Patriots to the 1997 game they lost to Green Bay.

Joe Greene player personnel Pittsburgh Steelers

Joe Greene + player personnel + Pittsburgh Steelers - Charles Edward Greene, known as “Mean Joe” Greene, (born September 24, 1946) is a former all-pro American football defensive tackle who played for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the NFL. Throughout the early 1970s he was the one of most dominant defensive players in the National Football League. He is considered by many to be one of the greatest defensive linemen ever and was the cornerstone of the legendary “Steel Curtain” defense.

He is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and a four-time Super Bowl champion. His nickname, "Mean Joe Greene" stems from his alma mater, the University of North Texas' athletic teams, which are nicknamed the Mean Green. Greene is also well known for his appearance in the "Mean Joe Greene" Coca-Cola commercial in 1979, considered to be one of the all-time best Super Bowl commercials. Before his NFL career, Greene had an outstanding college football career at North Texas State University (now the University of North Texas) (1966–68), leading the team to a 23-5-1 record during his three seasons. In his 29 games at defensive tackle, North Texas State held the opposition to 2,507 yards gained on 1,276 rushes, a per carry average of less than two yards per attempt.

His collegiate coach, Rod Rust, said of the 1968 consensus All-America, "There are two factors behind Joe's success. First, he has the ability to make the big defensive play and turn the tempo of a game around. Second, he has the speed to be an excellent pursuit player." A pro scout said, "He's tough and mean and comes to hit people. He has good killer instincts. He's mobile and hostile."

He got his nickname when the Pittsburgh fan base mistakenly assumed that the North Texas team nickname of "Mean Green" was Joe Greene's nickname; however, Coach Rust's wife wanted to give a nickname to the team's outstanding defense. Since green is the school's main color, she gave the defense the name "Mean Green". In 1984, he was enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame. In 2006, Greene was voted to the East-West Shrine Game Hall of Fame. Mean Joe Greene was the leader and the anchor of the Steel Curtain defense that won four Super Bowls in the 1970's. He was twice recognized as the NFL defensive player of the year in 1972 and 1974.

He, along with other members of the Steelers' front four (L.C. Greenwood, Dwight White and Ernie Holmes) even appeared on the cover of Time magazine. That defense held NFL MVP Fran Tarkenton and the Vikings offense scoreless in Super Bowl IX (the Vikings only scored on a blocked punt, for which they missed the extra point), the only time that has occurred in Super Bowl history. It was also Greene's best championship performance, when he became the first player ever to record an interception, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery in a single Super Bowl. He went to the Pro Bowl 10 times during his career.

Greene is also well-known for the "stunt 4-3" defense in which he would line up at an angle, between the center and guard, and would explode into the line taking up 2-3 blockers. He started doing this sometime in the 1974 season, and while it cut down on the number of sacks he racked up it freed up his other defensive teammates like middle linebacker Jack Lambert to make tackles with ease.

Kyle Williams death threats

Kyle Williams death threats - Kyle Williams, the San Francisco 49ers punt returner whose two fumbles helped cost the team a trip to the Super Bowl, kyle williams death threats, has been receiving death threats via Twitter from angry fans.

The San Francisco Gate found multiple tweets written to Williams by angry fans, many of whom suggested what the second-year veteran should do with himself in light of his disastrous playoff performance. One of the messages recommended he jump off the Golden Gate Bridge. Another suggested he "run n2 a bullet." One of the more disturbing tweets mentioned Williams' wife and kids. san francisco 49ers,

Aggrieved fans acting ignorant and making baseless threats is nothing new. Before Twitter, these idiots were spouting off in bars and family rooms whenever a player on their favorite team played the role of a goat. The only difference now is that they have a public forum and a more direct line with which to vent their frustration.

A quick look through Williams' recent twitter timeline shows that support is far outweighing the negative. He's been sent hundreds of messages of encouragement from fans and has also received mention from current NFL players, Hall of Famers and 49ers teammates. giants patriots,

They realize what those select few fools don't: Kyle Williams had a terrible day. He deserves to be criticized, not crucified.

Sarah Burke medical bill

Sarah Burke medical bill - Sarah Burke’s family reaches out for help covering beloved skier’s medical bills

Sarah Burke medical bill - As the skiing community continues to mourn Sarah Burke's death, more than $185,000 had been raised by Friday evening on a fundraising website set up to help her family cover hospital costs.

Burke, sarah burke dies, the Canadian freestyle skier who was instrumental in bringing the women's skiing halfpipe event to the Olympics, died Thursday morning at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City. Burke died of cardiac arrest and lack of oxygen to her brain, complications that followed a traumatic brain injury she suffered during a training run on the Park City superpipe course Jan. 10. She was 29. sarah burke medical bill,

"Please consider helping them cover the enormous cost of Sarah's recent medical care and to provide for other arrangements by donating," read a letter on the fundraising site. "Your support in their greatest time of need will be gratefully appreciated and forever remembered."

The site was organized by her agent, Michael Spencer, and her husband, Rory Bushfield, is listed as the beneficiary. sarah burke website,

Although the original cost of her medical treatment was reported to be over $500,000, the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association announced Friday that the final figure was expected to be approximately $200,000.

"Because of the donations in the last day, it is now clear that Sarah's family will not have any financial burden related to her care," the CFSA said in a statement. "Once charges are finalized, the University will work with Health Canada to determine what type of coverage may be available and what their contribution will be, as Sarah is a Canadian citizen."

The site listed a goal of $550,000.

"Sarah you were and always will be an inspiration to many," wrote one supporter on the site's message board. "Thank you for being a wonderful role model and someone girls can look up to in the skiing world. Your beautiful smile and soul will be forever with us. Thoughts and prayers go to your family and close friends."

The Vancouver Sun reported the CFSA has insurance to cover its athletes, but only in events sanctioned by the association. Burke was injured while on a training run at an event sponsored by Monster Energy Drink.

Monster Energy Drink's website featured a "We Love You Sarah!" tribute photo Friday which redirected fans to the fundraising site.

Burke had just completed a 540-degree "flat spin" trick, landing on her feet on the floor of the U-shaped superpipe. But what appeared to be a routine landing turned tragic in the few split seconds after Burke's skis made impact. According to a spokeswoman for her Canadian National Halfpipe Team, Burke bounced and fell on her head, suffering a torn vertebral artery.

CFSA CEO Peter Judge said in a conference call Thursday that Burke had completed the 540 flat spin "many, many times," and that the maneuver "was certainly in the realm of her skill capabilities.

"This injury was one - it was more of a freak accident than one caused by anything in specific terms," Judge said. "It was more of a fluke outcome. Safety was paramount to her."

IOC president Jacques Rogge expressed sadness over Burke's death, but said freestyle skiing is no more dangerous than other winter sports.

"It was with enormous sadness that I learned of the death of Sarah Burke," Rogge said. "She was a fine athlete doing the sport she loved. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this time."

David Beckham Set to Re-Sign with MLS

David Beckham Set to Re-Sign with MLS - David Beckham is to remain at LA Galaxy after signing a new two-year deal with the club.

The former England captain, 36, had been linked with a move to Paris St Germain but decided to stay at the team he joined in 2007 from Real Madrid.

"This was an important decision for me," Beckham said in a statement.

"I had many offers from clubs from around the world, however, I'm still passionate about playing in America and winning trophies with the Galaxy.''

Beckham, who began his career at Manchester United, helped Galaxy lift the MLS Cup last season, meaning he has won a major trophy with each of the clubs he has permanently signed for.

His Galaxy contract expired on 31 December but with his family settled in California it now looks like he will finish his career in the United States.

He has stated previously he would like to be involved in the running of an American club when his playing efforts come to an end, and he still harbours hopes of competing for the Great Britain team in the London Olympics.

"I've seen first hand how popular soccer is now in the States and I'm as committed as ever to growing the game here,'' Beckham said.

"My family and I are incredibly happy and settled in America and we look forward to spending many more years here.''

Following his graduation through the Manchester United youth ranks, he moved to Real Madrid in 2003 for £25m before moving to the United States in a five-year deal worth £128m.

The move drew criticism at the time but it is accepted that he has helped boost football in the US.

LA Galaxy know how close they came to losing the player who gives the team international fame, and head coach Bruce Arena was delighted that Beckham extended his stay.

"I am thrilled that David has chosen to rejoin the Galaxy, especially as he had numerous options where he could continue his career,'' Arena said.

"I felt that he was one of the best players in all of MLS last season and we could not have achieved the success that we did without him. We look forward to trying to replicate that success this season with David once again in a Galaxy uniform.''

Beckham's deal was negotiated by head of XIX Entertainment Simon Fuller, who is the player's business partner and manager, and also looks after world number four tennis player Andy Murray and Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton.

"When David and I discussed making the move from Real Madrid to the LA Galaxy back in 2007, our minds were firmly focused on the massive opportunity of helping to grow soccer in the United States,'' Fuller said.

"We have made great progress over the past five years in raising the profile of soccer domestically and the MLS on a worldwide stage, and we are encouraged by all the results.

"However, clearly this is an ongoing mission and this new deal confirms our commitment to continuing our journey and making sure the world's biggest sport, soccer, continues to grow in the world's most passionate sports loving nation, the USA.''

Serena Williams Boyfriend

Serena Williams Boyfriend - Tennis ace Serena Williams dominates on the court, but it seems she's not quite so lucky in the game of love.

The 29-year-old has split from her rap star boyfriend Common, real name Lonnie Rashid Lynn, it is claimed.

The couple have been quietly dating since 2008 but a source tells America's In Touch Weekly: 'They just grew apart.'

If Serena was upset by the break-up, she certainly didn't let it show as she as she defeated Swiss player Stefanie Voegele in the first round of the French Open on Monday.

It comes less than two weeks after Common, 38, told chat show host Ellen DeGeneres he was planning to marry the Wimbledon champion.

When asked about his future with Serena, he said: 'I definitely want to get married. I would love to get married and have kids.'

Common, who has carved out a successful acting career with roles in Smokin' Aces, American Gangster and Date Night, also opened up about how he would become 'emotionally involved' while watching the sports star on the court.

He said: 'I sit there, and I’m just tense… and people try and talk to me, and I tell them to be quiet. I was sitting next to Richard Branson and I didn’t pay attention. I don’t care who is there. I’m focused on this tennis match.'

Prior to her relationship with the entertainer, Serena dated actor Jackie Long and was also linked to film maker Brett Ratner.

Common has a daughter, Omoye, 13, from a previous relationship.

A spokesman for Serena had no comment about the break-up claims when contacted by Mail Online today.

Sarah Burke Coma

Sarah Burke Coma - Canadian Olympic hopeful Sarah Burke, the winningest woman in the world of freestyle skiing, is in a medically induced coma after crashing on a half-pipe course training ramp in Park City, Utah.

Peter Judge, CEO of the Canadian freestyle team, confirmed to the Associated Press that Burke, 29, is in a coma after the Tuesday accident left her in critical condition.

"What I've heard, relatively directly, is that she landed a trick down in the bottom end of the pipe, and kind of bounced, from her feet to her head," Judge told the Toronto Globe and Mail. "It wasn't anything that looked like a catastrophic fall, so I'm a bit mystified."

Burke, who is not only one of the best female skiers in the world but a red carpet regular and fashion plate who was once named one of FHM's 100 sexiest women alive, was admitted and treated at University Hospital in Salt Lake, a spokeswoman for the hospital had confirmed.

Freestyle skiing is something of a daredevil sport -- a sort of trick skiing that uses the half-pipe, which is normally used by snowboarders. In recent days, Burke has been training for the upcoming X-Games in Aspen, Colo., in which she has already won the gold four times.

Burke's accident occurred on the same course where snowboarder and Olympic medalist Kevin Pearce suffered a traumatic brain injury in 2009. Pearce ultimately went through two years of intensive therapy to relearn how to walk, talk and he finally took his first ride on a snowboard in December.

Burke and her husband, Rory Bushfield, also a free skier, are royalty in the skiing world. Bushfield appealed to the public on Twitter late Tuesday, asking for help arranging travel for him and Burke's mother to get to Salt Lake City. According to Burke's publicist, the family is now with Burke at the hospital.

The family requested privacy to focus on Burke's recovery.

Burke was well aware of the extreme risks of her sport, and even discussed the danger on "Good Morning America" two years ago.

"You wear helmets. You wear padding. You do what you have to do, but you learn how to handle it," she said at the time.

In a statement he released Wednesday Bushfield says that his wife is "very strong."

"Sarah is a very strong young woman, and she will most certainly fight to recover," he said.

Burke had also been an advocate for years for freestyle skiing, for both men and women, to be included in the winter Olympics. She had only recently succeeded, but now it's unclear whether she'll be able to compete in the winter games in Russia in 2014.

Tim Tebows Fire St Elmos Fire

Tim Tebows Fire St Elmos Fire - John Parr found plenty of success when his 1985 hit "St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion)" was released. He's bringing that hit back now, and he's doing so behind the strength of the Tim Tebow machine. tim tebows fire st elmos fire,

Parr has redone his hit, a song that reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts, with Tebow as the inspiration. Fittingly, the song is titled "Tim Tebow's Fire."  st elmos fire man in motion,

"I was inspired by Tim Tebow so I wanted to modify the lyrics ... in his honor of the way that he lives his life as being a great example," the British musician told FOX31 in Denver on Monday.

Speaking of the lyrics, how can anyone dispute the wonder of these? st elmos fire man in motion,

I can see a new horizon
Underneath the blazin' sky
I'll be where the eagle's
Flyin' higher and higher

Gonna be a man in motion

All I needs my Broncos team
Take me where my future's lyin'
Tim Tebows Fire

OK, so it's not "Scu, Scu Scutaro," but it's still kind of catchy. Check it out below.

lsu vs alabama 2012

lsu vs alabama 2012 - Alabama vs. LSU part deux, this time with BCS title on line

lsu vs alabama 2012 - The top two teams in the country will collide in the Superdome, as SEC foes Alabama and LSU meet again this season, this time with the 2012 BCS National Championship on the line.

Les Miles was tabbed the National Coach of the Year as his Tigers ran the table and finished 13-0, while capturing the SEC title with a 42-10 rout of Georgia in the conference championship game. Not many teams even presented a challenge to LSU's run to New Orleans, with a 19-6 win over Mississippi State in mid-September and a 9-6 overtime win in Tuscaloosa against Alabama in early November representing the closest contests.

Miles knows that the experience of being in this position in the recent past is certainly a plus.

"The good news is that we've been in this game before, understand what it means to play game with a month out and how to divide the time. We're prepared. The first place we will start is the first game where we played them. It might be rendered as different. I think there will be some similarities and some contrasting styles."

LSU is seeking its second national crown in the last four years, winning the title in 2008 with a 38-24 win over Ohio State. Overall, the Tigers are 22-19-1 in postseason play with wins in five of their last six bowl games. Last year, LSU bested Texas A&M, 41-24, in the Cotton Bowl.

Nick Saban's Crimson Tide have had yet another impressive season, winning 11 games. It marked the third time in the last four years that Alabama amassed 11 victories in a season. However, the overtime loss to the Tigers left Alabama second-fiddle in the SEC. Still, the team closed out November with three straight wins to remain within striking distance of a spot in New Orleans and edged out some potent teams to get there.

Saban is certainly excited about the opportunity his team has.

"Our players and everyone associated with our program are very excited about the opportunity to play in the national championship game. We are very appreciative of the chance to play an LSU team that we have tremendous respect for, and we are looking forward to the challenge."

Alabama is just two years removed from capturing a national title, topping Texas in the 2010 BCS Championship Game, 37-21, for the school's 13th national crown. The team is making its fourth BCS Bowl appearance and third in the last four years under Saban's watchful eye.

Alabama is the most storied postseason program, owning the NCAA record for bowl game appearances (58) and bowl wins (32). The Crimson Tide are 32-22-3 all-time in postseason play, with three wins in the last four bowl games. Last year, the Tide rolled over Michigan State in the Capital One Bowl, 49-7.

This marks the 76th all-time meeting between these two teams. Alabama holds a 45-25-5 series advantage, as the two programs have split the last four meetings.

The Tigers' defense received a great deal of attention this season, but the offense also had its moments in 2011. LSU comes into the postseason averaging 38.5 ppg. The passing attack struggled at times and accounted for only 160.2 ypg, but that was due in large part to uncertainty under center. Jarrett Lee got the nod at quarterback with the off-the-field issues surrounding Jordan Jefferson. Lee was solid, completing just over 62 percent of his passes, for 1,306 yards, with 13 TDs and just three INTs. Jefferson earned playing time down the stretch and played well in a limited time frame, completing 60.2 percent of his throws, for 684 yards, with six TDs and just one INT. Rueben Randle is the team's top option in the vertical game, leading the Tigers in receptions (50), receiving yards (904) and TD catches (eight).

Everything LSU does offensively comes off the run. The Tigers average 215.2 yards per game and have a couple of options in the backfield to rely on. Michael Ford only got two starts this season, but led the team in rushing with 755 yards on 6.1 yards per carry with seven TDs. Spencer Ware (700 yards, eight TDs), Alfred Blue (539 yards, seven TDs) and Kenny Hilliard (320 yards, eight TDs) all made contributions as well.

The LSU defense is the primary reason the Tigers are playing for the national title. One of the nation's premier units, LSU limited the opposition to just 10.5 ppg (second nationally), showing equal disdain for the run (third nationally at 85.5 ypg) and the pass (eighth nationally at 166.6 ypg). The result was 252.1 yards per game against (second nationally). Overall, LSU racked up 37 sacks and forced 30 turnovers.

Playmakers abound on the defensive side of the ball for LSU, starting with a pair of First-Team All-American cornerbacks in Tyrann Mathieu (team-high 70 tackles, two INTs, five fumble recoveries, six forced fumbles) and Morris Claiborne (46 tackles, six INTs). Matthieu was regarded as the nation's top defender and was named the Thorpe Award winner this year as a result.

In the front seven, Sam Montgomery (44 tackles, 13.0 TFL, nine sacks) and Barkevious Mingo (41 tackles, 13.5 TFL, eight sacks) have been disruptive up the field.

Offensively speaking, the Crimson Tide present a balanced attack, with near- equal ability to move the chains on the ground (219.8 ypg) and through the air (213.6 ypg). However, like LSU, it is the run that sets up everything else for Alabama.

Heisman finalist Trent Richardson had a remarkable 2011 campaign, racking up 1,583 yards and 20 TDS on 131.9 yards per game and 6.0 yards per carry, earning the Doak Walker Award and being named the SEC Offensive Player of the Year. A true workhorse, Richardson amassed 263 carries this season, while also showing the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield (27 receptions, 327 yards, three TDs).

A.J. McCarron played well under center in his first season at QB for Alabama, completing 66.7 percent of his passes, for 2,400 yards, with 16 TDs against five interceptions. Wideout Marquis Maze (56 receptions, 627 yards, one TD) is the team's top target downfield.

If any defensive unit has the ability to match play for play with LSU's dominant squad, it is Alabama. The Crimson Tide finished the season as the top defense in the country, leading the nation in scoring defense (8.8 ppg), rush defense (74.9 ypg), pass defense (116.3 ypg) and of course total defense (191.3 ypg).

All-American talent abounds on the UA defense, headlined by linebackers Dont'a Hightower (81 tackles, 9.5 TFL, 3.0 sacks, one INT), Courtney Upshaw (45 tackles, 17.0 TFL, 8.5 sacks) and Nico Johnson (43 tackles, 5.5 TFL, one sack, one INT).

Upshaw thinks the team is ready for its biggest challenge to date.

"We have been able to use this time to get back into game shape and rest since the Auburn game and I think that has really helped us out. There have been no regrets this season and hopefully we can finish it off with a national championship."

The Alabama secondary features talented DBs Mark Barron (66 tackles, two INTs), Robert Lester (36 tackles, two INTs) and Dre Kirpatrick (26 tackles, nine PBUs).

The SEC is finally going to lose a national title game, but then again, it will capture its sixth straight championship as well.

Jorge Posada Retirement 2011

Jorge Posada Retirement 2011 - Jorge Posada Retirement 2011- Jorge Posada will announce his retirement shortly, a person with knowledge of the situation confirmed, choosing to end his 17-year career as an exclusive Yankee rather than continue elsewhere.

The source said the Yankees will participate in Posada's announcement, which might take place at Yankee Stadium -- a sign that the two sides have been able to work past the tensions of 2011 and appreciate their meaning to each other. WFAN's Sweeny Murti first reported the news of Posada's decision.

Posada, 40, will finish his major-league career as one of the best offensive catchers in baseball history. He hit 275 homers (246 as a catcher) and had a .374 on-base percentage and .474 slugging percentage in 7,150 plate appearances. Posada added 11 homers, a .358 OBP and .387 SLG in 492 plate appearances in 125 postseason games.

To Yankees fans, Posada will be remembered as much for his passion and fire as for his offensive excellence and, until recent years, durability. That temperament led to an uncomfortable final season.

Switched from catcher to designated hitter before the 2011 season, Posada endured a very difficult start to the campaign, prompting Yankees manager Joe Girardi to bat Posada ninth in the Yankees' May 14 game against the Red Sox at Yankee Stadium. Posada reacted by pulling himself out of the lineup about an hour before first pitch, setting in motion a war of words that ended only when Posada issued a public apology the subsequent day.

When Posada pinch hit against Boston in the May 15 night game, Yankees fans largely gave him a rousing ovation, a tribute to the vast quantity of goodwill he had accrued to that point. He bounced back with a strong June but faded and wound up on the bench in early August. Then he started all five of the Yankees' Division Series games against Detroit, recording a .579 OBP and .571 SLG as the designated hitter.

He broke down while speaking with reporters after the Yankees' Game 5 loss, and he acknowledged at a November event that his emotions reflected the knowledge that his Yankees career had ended. He took two more months to decide to conclude his career altogether.

It was quite an impressive career. Selected in the 24th round of the 1990 amateur draft by the Yankees as an infielder, Posada transitioned to catcher in the low levels of the minor leagues. He made his major-league debut in 1995 -- along with fellow "Core Four" members Derek Jeter, Andy Pettitte and Mariano Rivera -- and joined the majors for good as the apprentice to starting catcher Joe Girardi.

Girardi and Posada shared the job in 1998 and 1999, with many pitchers preferring to throw to the veteran Girardi over the inexperienced Posada. Only when the Yankees jettisoned Girardi, giving Posada full-time catching duties in 2000, did Posada shine, his power from both sides of the plate overwhelming any complaints about his defense.

Posada played in at least 137 games from 2000 through 2007, taking pride in his ability to avoid the disabled list. That streak concluded in 2008 when right shoulder problems sidelined him and ultimately required season-ending surgery. He returned as the Yankees' primary catcher in 2009 and 2010 but spent time on the disabled list in both campaigns.

When Posada wrapped up a four-year, $52.4-million contract last season, the Yankees didn't have interest in retaining his playing services. Russell Martin performed capably as Posada's replacement behind the plate, and the team thinks Jesus Montero can provide an upgrade over Posada at designated hitter.

Nevertheless, Posada, the owner of five World Series rings, will own a place in the Yankees' crowded list of greats. A shaky finish won't take away what occurred before, as the two sides are sure to emphasize when Posada's retirement becomes official.

Joe Torre Dodgers

Joe Torre Dodgers - Joe Torre, a Major League Baseball manager for 28 years before becoming a league executive, has resigned his post to pursue a bid to buy the Los Angeles Dodgers, the league announced on Wednesday.

Torre surrendered his position as Major League Baseball's vice president of baseball operations, a job he was given last February by commissioner Bud Selig.

"I have made this decision because of a unique chance to join a group that plans to bid for the Dodgers," Torre said. "This job was an incredible experience, one that I enjoyed very much."

Torre guided the New York Yankees to World Series titles in 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2000 during a 12-year stint as manager before taking over as manager of the Dodgers in 2008 until retiring in 2010.

The 71-year-old former infielder with Atlanta, St. Louis and the New York Mets will join the Dodgers' bid of Los Angeles shopping center developer Rick Caruso.

"I have great confidence in Rick Caruso's unique qualifications and his ability to lead a successful bid for the Los Angeles Dodgers," Torre said. "I'm very excited about this new opportunity."

Among reported rival bidders for the historical ballclub, which has been in bankruptcy since last June, are retired NBA star Magic Johnson, former owners Fox Sports and Peter O'Malley and NBA champion Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.

A January 23 deadline has been set for submitting initial offers, with current owner Frank McCourt having agreed to select a winning bid by April 1 in order for a sale of the team to be completed by April 30.

Torre's duties will, on an interim basis, fall upon senior vice presidents Peter Woodfork, Joe Garagiola Jnr and Kim Ng.
